Weld-On Hoist Rings & Lifting Points

Weld-on swivel hoist rings, round-base weld-on rings and weld-on lifting points from Actek and RUD for permanent lifting points on frames, fixtures, containers and structures.

Why choose weld-on lifting points?

When a part has no room for a tapped hole, or you need a lifting point that stays on the load for its whole service life, weld-on hoist rings are the answer. The weld base is welded directly to the steel load while the ring swivels and pivots to align with the sling.

Weld-on lifting points are common on fabricated frames, skids, tooling, containers, attachments and heavy equipment that is lifted again and again.

Bolt-on or weld-on?

Bolt-on swivel hoist rings can be removed and reused across many loads. Weld-on rings are permanent, need no drilling or tapping, and avoid the risk of a lost or wrong bolt.

Weld-on hoist ring safety

  • Welding should be done by a qualified welder following the manufacturer's weld procedure and filler material.
  • Weld only to a base material strong enough to carry the rated load.
  • Place lifting points so the load stays balanced and the ring can pivot freely toward the sling.
  • Inspect welds and the ring before every lift and remove from service if cracked or deformed.
  • Never exceed the rated load stamped on the hoist ring.

FAQ

Weld-on hoist ring questions

What is a weld-on hoist ring?

A weld-on hoist ring is a lifting point with a base designed to be welded directly to a steel load. The ring swivels and pivots so it can align with the sling, giving you a permanent, load-rated lifting point without drilling or tapping.

Who can install weld-on lifting points?

Weld-on lifting points should be installed by a qualified welder following the manufacturer's welding instructions, including base material, weld size and filler requirements.

Can weld-on hoist rings be loaded at an angle?

Swiveling weld-on rings are designed to align with the sling and handle angular loads within the manufacturer's rating. Always check the product's loading diagram before lifting.
